> One regional manager at a financial services company Walsh spoke with recently said they felt caught in the middle, as enforcement of different return-to-office mandates for retail and office workers has kindled a burgeoning sense of unfairness within the organization.
I'm not particularly surprised? Middle management is increasingly being called on to deal with keeping up employee morale in the face of pandemics, inflation and terrible company policy; coordinating in a hybrid or fully remote environment on Zoom for hours a day; and both suffering in these conditions and trying to justify to their teams why this is happening.
Nobody's alright anymore.
