Does windows on arm have emulation for x86 programs? I'd think something like what apple has done in the past with rosetta would be a necessity.
It doesn't have to be super fast, just work well enough.
- Scharkenberg 4y agoYes, both 32-bit and 64-bit apps should work, as long as they don't rely on low-level x86 stuff.
- nuc1e0n 4y agoWhy isn't this capability highlighted more?
- Scharkenberg 4y agoI don't know, perhaps because it's not that new. It's very nice to have though. On the other hand this particular device is meant as a dev kit for making ARM apps (either new ones or porting traditional programs to ARM) - it would be a little bit ironic if x86 compatibility were to be highlighted here.

- tim-- 4y agoIt sure does! https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/arm/apps-on-arm-x86-emulation https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/arm/apps-on-arm-x8... It's probably nowhere near as good as Apple's emulation. https://www.techrepublic.com/article/windows-on-arm-this-is-how-well-64-bit-emulation-is-working/ https://www.techrepublic.com/article/windows-on-arm-this-is-...
