When I was thirty five years old, I hired in for a building maintenance job at a major airline data center. I had little computer experience and didn't even know that Windows was an operating system. I quickly discovered that almost all of the power plant equipment I operated was computerized, and I was way behind the learning curve!
A fellow co-worker offered to help me and showed me many things, but the best advice he gave me was to buy some books and study up on computers. As I studied, I brought him plenty of questions! Years later I marveled to him how he was so patient with all the questions. He told me if I hadn't used the books to learn what to ask, he would have cut me off for not really trying. I've always treasured this. I'm about to retire now after 30 years and have seen many changes with many machines, I've never regretted learning any if it!
As for bloatware, it is evil and unfair to the buyer/owner of the device. But let's not kid ourselves, they don't consider us owners.
