Microplastics are now found in human breast milk. The implications of this on physical development are not yet fully understood and will not be for a while but the fact that the Flynn effect is now in reverse should be an indicator of long term consequences. Pollution from industrial activity is now spread out across the planet evenly enough that it is impossible to escape. Children born today will have synthetic chemicals in their bloodstream because of all the past industrial activity and there is nothing anyone can do about it at this point.
