Good question, I don't run any banking apps on Android out of principle. I don't like authenticator apps either but they are better than SMS verifcation which I despise. Where possible, I use a Yubikey or other separate read-only device. Banking is only done on a laptop booted from a read-only stick and with a TAN-generator.
