A similar annecdote, my wife's work laptop is a Lenovo and it had a part fail under warranty.
The Lenovo technician that showed up was 19 years old and said "wow that must be an old laptop!" And proceeded to replace the wrong part, breaking something else in the process.
The Lenovo laptop is a 2021 model. Now I'm scared that future generations will regard technology as branded magic. This was his job.
- gs17 4y agoI'm also a bit scared. Sent mine in to Lenovo with an obvious hardware fault (rebooting randomly, happened under both Windows and Linux) explained to them. They reinstalled Windows and sent it back still broken. The second round I called in and got to talk to a guy who had no idea how they sent it back like that, who got it fixed, but sounds like the first attempt wasn't even the worst it could be.
