Bannon may be in jail but we are playing out his timeline, where the destruction of China is the sole orientating principle of US foreign and domestic policy.
TSMC could've been sitting pretty servicing both markets, but now effectively has its TAM cut in half, whilst also seeing the inevitable rise of business competitors in Mainland China who now have a free hand in the worlds largest single market.
