I have met exactly one person who proposed doing that… during their interview for a potential VP Engineering role. And allegedly it was used quite broadly at the organization they were leaving. The conclusion was “no hire” for other reasons, but we (the CEO and I) definitely had a chat afterwards about how invasive and weird that was.
