Russia's Shoigu holds 2nd call with US defense secretary in 3 days
- thoughtpeddler 4y agoI for one am glad these communication channels are open. Sheesh.
- lupire 4y agoNot really. It's just a another round of Russian propaganda trying to plant rumors to blame mythical Ukrainian supervillains for Russia's actions.
- thoughtpeddler 4y agoPropaganda or not, the article confirms that these calls do happen. At this moment in time, with tensions as high as they are, that's an important element to have in place.
- rasz 4y agoGauging how far they can push in (nuke in Kherson) before backlash.
- lupire 4y agoI downvoted this flamebait before I read the article, but I was wrong. > Moscow's concern that Ukraine could detonate a "dirty bomb" - a device laced with radioactive material. > Previous Russian assertions that Ukraine might resort to using banned weapons such as biological arms have stirred concerns in the West that Moscow might be preparing to stage "false flag" attacks and blame them on Kyiv.
- rasz 4y agoFor context here is russian tool trying to convince IAEA inspectors (Nuclear Engineers) that Ukraine has been shelling its own Nuclear Power Station, station still supplying power to Ukraine, and the evidence on the ground, rocket remains, might confuse them. You see that rocket simply flipped 180 degrees before hitting the ground, thats why it merely looks like it came from the russian side. https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-official-tells-inspectors-rocket-uturned-before-hitting-ukraine-plant-2022-9 https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-official-tells-inspec... Video https://twitter.com/MacWBishop/status/1565681794602729478 https://twitter.com/MacWBishop/status/1565681794602729478 Its the same argument russia tried to use after Kramatorsk railway station attack https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kramatorsk_railway_station_attack https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kramatorsk_railway_station_att... not to mention claiming they dont operate Tochka-U missiles.
- IAmGraydon 4y agoNATO has been very clear about where the red line sits and the specific consequences that will result. There is no gauging to be done.
- rasz 4y agoOnly if by very clear you mean unspecified 'Catastrophic Consequences' with the subtext it wont be nuclear. putin might be willing to pay that price.
