Could someone please explain in a few words what the problem is?
I had a look at dall-e and it seems to be paintings generated by a program (as opposed to humans). I do not know what stable diffusion is.
What is the moral aspect of the problem?
(I am a highly technical person, just not interested in AI so I do not get the big picture)
- elendee 4y agoAny target objective which you might define in data to a computer is potentially optimizable by machine learning, if you are able to generate large amounts of permutations of potential generations of that target data, and then let the machine begin to sort out what the best ways to get that objective are. The technology behind MJ, SD, Dalle is not dissimilar from self driving cars, from financial investment, from seemingly intelligent conversation, to coding with Github Copilot etc etc. We are on a journey of mimicking and extrapolating all goal-oriented human behavior.
- BrandoElFollito 4y agoThank you for your explanation, sorry for not having been clear. I know what AI is (it was part of my PhD many years ago when it was starting). It is rather the actual problem I was wondering about (people using stolen models? Ot not sharing after having used models that were open? or something else?)
