Netflix ends password-sharing fees that sparked backlash in Latin America
- Comevius 4y agoThese guys are stupid, it's the middle of the stream wars, the winner is going to take it all, and they are busy waging a war against their customers. They could accomplish the same by giving an incentive for people to pay for their own accounts. Instead of a fee, they could introduce a referral discount. They could introduce more personalization and social features. They could highlight the benefit of passwordless authentication. They could introduce a family plan. They could offer a more restricted shared play option, and upsell from there.
- johng 4y agoI would argue it’s not a war against customers if they are stealing something. They are thieves. It’s a war that needs to be fought eventually and the longer they delay the worse it will be.
