Did .NET MAUI Ship Too Soon? Devs Sound Off on 'Massive Mistake'
- Kukumber 4y agoThat's one of the worst excuse i ever seen.. Their mistake was: - doubling down on XAML - using C# (no AOT - experiment only started recently, and no DSL capabilities) - using native controls In a world where declarative UIs and custom renderer are proven to be better to actually design original apps - SwiftUI - Compose - Flutter .NET MAUI didn't ship too soon, it shipped 20 years too late, and as a result they missed their target, they didn't learn from XAMARIN
- superchroma 4y agoNot a huge surprise, .NET Core was pretty rough in the early years too, but they fixed it. The only question for me is whether MAUI can eclipse projects like Avalonia (basically multiplat WPF) or Uno in a timely fashion.
