This fact blew my mind. The STEM equivalent of the long jump record. These seems to hold for 30 years.

- mpweiher 4y agoThe Bob Beamon record from 1968 was an outlier, attributed in part to altitude. If you only count jumps at lower altitude, you get a much more regular/piecemeal progression.
