People with radically different life experiences tend to be interesting. Traveling, by definition, makes you more likely to run into those kind of people. My last trip took me to Georgia. As someone that immigrated from Russia as a child, meeting Russians that are debating a similar decision today was eye opening - they have the same hopes, dreams and fears that we had 20 years ago. In the US, I’ve never felt understood in that respect. This is one of many. I can’t imagine my life without those experiences.
