San Francisco was one of the best places to live for a long time. Excellent weather, a thriving economy, top-tier pop culture status, etc. There were few advantages SF did not have. But things have clearly gone off track. As a political conservative, I tend to think about political excess (on the left side). Others may see it differently, I wouldn't blame them if they did. No matter what, I hope SF pulls things together and quickly. I also hope the solutions are transferable, because it seems some other cities have the same kind of sickness.
