Yes I think that's right. It's a general pattern, Outsourcing disempowers in unexpected ways. The "finding", as it were, is that for some reason people in tech are surprised by this. They don't readily see that moving to the cloud increases entropy. You can't easily go back the other way, and so maybe companies should understand cloud as a one way process and think much more about the value they have and will be losing.
