How to Index Anything (2003)
- metadat 4y agoThis is an interesting alternative compared to, say, using Elasticsearch / OpenSearch. One caveat appears to be index size, though: > The indices can get large. In our example index of HTML files, the index occupies about 11MB, about one-fourth the size of the original files indexed. -- Meta-observation: Whoa, the accessibility wheelchair in the lower right-hand side is unlike anything I've seen offered by a website before. It's like these people really care about user comfort. Refreshing.

- zvr 4y agoThis needs a "(2003)" in the title, so that people realize how old this information is. The (last?) version of the software mentioned is archived in https://github.com/swish-e/swish-e https://github.com/swish-e/swish-e
- jjn1056 4y agoIt all still works tho :)
- janderland 4y agoAs a rule of thumb, I never assume a Hacker News article was recently published. XD Lots of old gems being posted after years.
