- kcplate 4y agoYou jest, but I owned a house less than a half mile from a river where there was an acid spill in 1997 from a phosphate plant. River was caustic enough to impact the gators in it. Didn’t spend much time walking through it or wrestling the gators. Although I was chased by an angry turtle once.
- luckylion 4y agoHow were they impacted? Anything unexpected or did you just find a lot more dead gators?
- kcplate 4y agoAs I recall there was some with scarring from the initial spill, but don’t recall reports of dead gators—they tend to be pretty resilient. Fish were killed off, though. Basically the gators left the affected area for a few years. Probably because the food chain impact.
