- csdvrx 4y agoDoes it work with a random 10 second sample, or does it require the full song?
- sandreas 4y ago> Can the service identify short audio snippets? > No, it can't. The service has been designed for identifying full audio files. We would like to eventually support also this use case, but it's not a priority at the moment. Note that even when this will be implemented, it will be still intended for matching the original audio (e.g. for the purpose of tracklisting a long audio stream), not audio with background noise recorded on a phone. Ok, there you have a huge difference. Thank you for asking the right question.
- Scaevolus 4y agoYou would want to compute the chromaprints from the mod archive yourself, but acoustic would work quite well. Its fingerprints only consume about 15 bytes per second. Matching songs merely requires finding bit patterns with minimal hamming distance. Alignment requires a couple tricks, but nothing onerous. https://oxygene.sk/2011/01/how-does-chromaprint-work/ https://oxygene.sk/2011/01/how-does-chromaprint-work/
