I was under the impression that fluoride as well as chlorine is added to reduce the risk of bacterial growth in the water supply as well? We don’t add anything

I was under the impression that fluoride as well as chlorine is added to reduce the risk of bacterial growth in the water supply as well? We don’t add anything to the water in Denmark unless an added risk of contamination is detected. All toothpaste is fluoridated though.
