Microsoft’s Army Goggles Left US Soldiers with Nausea, Headaches in Test
- ggm 4y agoI get a strong "we can fix this with just a few more million dollars" vibe. I'm pretty sure the underlying physiological reality is that mechanistic artificial depth of field, projected text, lag of reality to overlay, and head clamping heavy tech is unfixable for some amount of discomfort and headache. Looking at a projection which in reality is up close but has to be "seen" as at a distance is inviting muscle ache from eyes and neck, combined with the weight of the device causing neck ache, that's a combination which cannot but have consequence. Its maybe still useful. I bet night vision scopes have similar issues, and are still used "faut de mieux" Soldiers hate the weight of body armour. They still use it.
