I think it's just because redditors tend to be younger (and the site is advertising to young people specifically). There's no point in arguing with literal children

There is no point in getting frustrated or angry with literal children, but I believe that arguing with them, in the educational and not rhetorical sense, is helpful. Children learn from example, and if the only examples are their peers, then how do you expect them to grow up differently than them?
