- sofixa 4y agoYes, it's very un-Apple of them, which some are taking as Apple being accepting and welcoming of other OSes, in particular Linux, on Macbooks. Which is an optimistic take, IMO, even if not unfounded.
- GeekyBear 4y ago>it's very un-Apple of them Apple has never locked down Macs.
- philistine 4y agoDon’t assign to Apple what you can blame to Intel. I sincerely believe the per-partition security to be an improvement Apple wants, but couldn’t deliver with EFI. It allows developers to have unsigned Beta versions of macOS without degrading security for the other OSes.
- astrange 4y agoIt’s not un-Apple of them, people just make up the idea that Macs are going to be locked down next year and have continually made it up for the last 10 years (or more).
- Gigachad 4y agoIt really doesn't look like Apple has any intention of locking the Macbooks down. They just don't care all that much about building stuff that's incompatible with other OSs, if someone wants to put the hard work in to making Linux work, there are no unreasonable obstructions.
