I think the majority of the experts on China military think that an invasion before at least 2025 is unlikely, as China is still in the process or rearming and retraining.

- bell-cot 4y agoFrom the CCP's viewpoint, there might be irresistible advantages to invading very soon - while the West is still busy helping Ukraine, and dealing with the waves of economic pain produced by that conflict. OTOH, waiting for more elections in the West - especially the 2024 U.S. Presidential election - might give the CCP a set of Western leaders who are far more indifferent to authoritarian invasions of small countries.
