Ubuntu’s New Terminal Ad Is Angering Users
- mattl 4y agoSeems reasonable to me that they’re now giving 5 machines of extended package support and patching to everyone and to mention it to their users.
- dbttdft 4y agoI've always seen Ubuntu as extremely non-utilitarian, given that the desktop is slow and buggy as hell for example, and now even the terminal itself will show ads instead of doing work. I'll stick with Gentoo.
- europeanguy 4y agoIsn't Ubuntu that distribution where someone took Debian and made it all corporate? Then you're surprised it feels like using Windows?
- karmakaze 4y agoI've long since given up on Ubuntu and Gnome. I do still choose Ubuntu repo-based distributions. I tried Debian repo-based but found inexcusable arbitrary differences in packages so don't trust them as much. I hope that the Ubuntu repository doesn't get so tainted that we need a third. Flatpack is starting to look like a worthwhile default for a lot of cases.
