Fun fact: Giga Berlin is located some 8 kilometres southeast of the Berlin state boundary. (But I guess the Berlin kool-aid sells better than naming it Giga Grünheide, Brandenburg).

- kleiba 4y agoI didn't know about that practice but it makes sense - because we all know, data travels fastest when it uses airplanes. Kidding aside, you might be right, but then I suppose it's likely that datacenters themselves tried to use the same trick to sound less provincial.
