Is there any evidence for this beyond kCMVideoCodecType_AV1 in the 16.0 headers? I'm not sure that alone implies any particular version. Could be iOS 17 or later for all we know.
- alwillis 4y agoIf you follow their web evangelists on Twitter and read the WebKit weblog, it’s been mentioned before. I’m pretty confident that some version of iOS 16 and macOS Ventura will support AV1.
- TheTon 4y agoDo you happen to have a link? I actually do follow them and their blog pretty closely and this is news to me. I realize we are all reading tea leaves here, but any public info at all from an Apple source would be interesting to me.
- ihuman 4y agoSafari 16 on iOS supports AVIF images, which use the AV1 encoding.
