I don't need a good reason not to do it, I need a reason to do it.
- avmich 4y agoBeing a human?
- tail_exchange 4y agoBeing a human is not a good reason to become a parent. Sure, reproducing is a human instinct, but another part of being a human is learning to control your instincts so you can have the life you want. If the life you want does not involve children, then the instinct to reproduce ceases to be a good reason.
- MisterSandman 4y agoI mean, you could also use condoms, you don't need to kill the instinct to reproduce.
- avmich 4y ago> If the life you want does not involve children, then the instinct to reproduce ceases to be a good reason. How do you know if the life you want is good?
- tail_exchange 4y agoI don't think I can answer what the formula for a good life is. There is a whole section of philosophy dedicated only to this area. I think it is up to each of us to figure out how to make the best out of our lives, but if you like how your life is now, and you are looking forward to your future, then I think it is fair to say that you are doing a decent job.
