My last intel laptop had a whining from the cpu, apparently triggered by it switching between q states or something. Reddit said it was a common issue with that model. I returned it and tried an amd chip next and this new laptop is super quiet.
My question: is this common, or was it a coincidence?
- xuhu 4y agoSame with i7-10850H on a Dell 5411, I eventually disabled hyperthreading completely as well as some sleep states to make it quiet.
