I was born towards the middle of the year, but I started school at age 5 instead of 6. I really wish my parents started me later. I think I would have had a lot less issues adapting to such a system.
I have ADHD too, and I wasn't diagnosed until my classical guitar professor basically told me to get treated or don't come back, but in a slightly more tactful manner.
The most disappointing part of the process was when I told people outside my family about my diagnosis. I was met with plenty of resounding comments like, "Wait, how did you not know?" or a "Yea, everyone knows you do. I knew within seconds of meeting you." It wasn't the... response I was hoping for, but oh well. =/
I figured once treated life would hop back on track, and I'd be able to apply myself, become who I was destined to be, etc.. But over the years, I have learned that ADHD, while impairing, wasn't what held me back, and still isn't what is holding me back. There is something else, I am still searching for it. (I don't mean something like a clinical disease, but perhaps my personality, past trauma, thought patterns, etc..)
