I’m currently working on a small team of computer engineers who support a custom Turing-complete DSL for an “operations” team that both programs and directly interfaces with clients. It doesn’t seem that different from what Apple or Microsoft do, which is write custom languages and tools for developing on their platforms, albeit specifically for general purpose programming.
