Intel Core I9-13900K Review: Hot and Hungry
- senttoschool 4y agoIt's CPU review season again. This means most places will emphasize Cinebench. Cinebench is a poor general purpose CPU benchmark because: 1. Heavily favors SMT/Hyperthreading 2. Heavily favors CPUs with many slow cores, over CPUs with fewer faster cores 3. Extremely popular today because AMD pushed it in its marketing when Zen1 and Zen2 were favored by Cinebench disproportionally 4. Unoptimized for Apple Silicon/ARM 5. Uncorrelated with gaming 6. Generally poorly correlates with office/dev work Read more here: https://www.reddit.com/r/hardware/comments/pitid6/eli5_why_does_it_seem_like_cinebench_is_now_the/ https://www.reddit.com/r/hardware/comments/pitid6/eli5_why_d...

- cyber_kinetist 4y agoOh my, that's terrifying. Thought the 7950X was a bit too hot, then I see Intel's latest results... I'm imagining what kind of monster AIO water cooler you would need to actually cool this. (Obviously air coolers are now out of the question, guess even a Noctua will fail to handle it.)

- philliphaydon 4y agoWow, makes the 7950x look good. But it is interesting to see the benefit of DDR5 with 13th gen vs 12th gen.
