Google glasses should be the warning here. They never found a reason for it to exists. Metaverse has reasons, sure. Sure you can meet with people. Sure you can play games. Sure the headsets are functional unlike glasses. But to what extent? People pull out their phones many times a day and scroll, and Mark benefits almost every time. So far the Metaverse isn't compelling. Why spend $400 on a headset for something you might use rarely? And that has no clear benefit above so many alternatives.
