Very good read. Process gates are one of the favorite tools of "successful" managers. Imagine coming up with action items during post-mortem. Drastic measures are easy to understand and have good optics. Narrow gates look like half-measures. As a manager, you should be proud of process steps you eliminated, not steps you added.
