I really love the versatility of my iPad as well but this single use case you mentioned I can't understand: > + I want to play some music (great speakers) Yes, the speakers are fine for their size and certainly good enough to listen to a podcast or talk-heavy Youtube video but I couldn't imagine listening to any music on it. Any budget bluetooth speaker for less than 100 bucks or headphones will sound much, much better.
