I think men admit to it more often especially in anonymous situations.

  I can't remember where I read the following but I recall that women are a lot more careful when they are going to cheat than men are. I think this was from a private investigator and basically like women will employ a lot more operational security and tradecraft so to speak in order to preserve their secrecy whereas men will basically sort of make 'stupid mistakes' and get caught more easily. I guess you could imagine from evolutionary perspective that's maybe it's a biologically higher perceived risk for women... While perhaps biologically the gains from cheating are probably the same.
