Kakao co-CEO resigns after fire incident that caused mass outage
- wrycoder 4y ago> Kakao’s slow recovery process was caused by the company’s lack of owned server infrastructure and “high dependence” on the SK C&C data center, which caught fire, analysts at Bernstein said in a report this week. Kakao also didn’t have a well distributed backup system, they added.
- dirtyid 4y agoHe became co-CEO in March. Seems like getting scapegoated.
- bigiain 4y agoThat or he's now taken this as an excuse to climb out of the trashfire he found himself in... (Although he'd been there since 2015, so he should have known what he was getting himself into. Perhaps he just didn't understand before he took the coCEO role just how ineffectual edicts from the C suite were going to be in terms of effecting actual change?)
