For budget conscious customers I think the cheaper ad version of Netflix may not be a bad option. You get all the content at the expense of a few minutes of ads. Still not as onerous as cable. Once the financial situation improves you move up the value chain.
- SQueeeeeL 4y agoThis is how our brief golden age of ad free content ends. Not with a bang, but with quiet resignation about how 'it's really better for us!'
- chernofool 4y ago5 years from now: content is only available on expensive ad platforms, everybody is back to pirating content. 10 years from now: rightsholders get desperate enough to let you purchase and download DRM-free TV shows and movies. Whoever re-invents iTunes gets on the cover of Forbes. I wish we could find a way to disincentive the sort of collective short-term greed that sinks an industry. These periodic dry spells of accessible media content are inconvenient and unnecessary.
- waboremo 4y ago720p with ads at just $1 cheaper than Disney+/Hulu with ads is quite a bad option. There needs to be greater backlash against this so Netflix is forced to either cut price closer to under $5, or match competitors with full HD.
- indigodaddy 4y agoNF has a 720p package? Wow that’s nuts had no idea
- acchow 4y agoIt includes ads tho
