- throwayyy479087 4y agoI disagree. Russia is showing why even wealthy despotism turns into endemic corruption which destroys institutions like the military. If Russia was currently rolling over the “degenerate, effeminate West,” you might have a point. But lately it seems like capitalism, democracy and the they/thems are doing great on the global field.
- anm89 4y agoSimply saying that other places are a mess(which i agree with) doesn't mean that everything is fine in our camp but even just saying that everything is fine in our camp is a drastically lower bar than "the end of history" If you had asked rhe author 20 years ago if nuclear threats, global inflation, an urgent climate disaster were compatible with "the end of history" he would have said no.
