It's probably using A-GPS.
- 0x457 4y agoA-GPS aka A-GNSS still uses GPS signal. The only difference is that metadata is downloaded via fast link (cellular or wifi) instead of slow satellite link. IIRC all mobile devices with A-GPS can download that over satellite link if needed, just takes longer. The real issue here is that it's integrated into a cellular modem, not that it's A-GPS.
