I use the LiDAR of the iPad Pro to capture full schematic of room in 3D to prepare spatial datasets. It isn't perfect. The sampling rate of iPad Pro is still lower than professional 3D cameras, but I can't complain when they cost a fraction of the latter. 3DScanner and similar apps do a great job at stitching the volumetric data on the fly & rendering on iPad itself (before I transfer). We use these data to do some inference via 3D computer vision projects for clients
