All we really have is our time. I like helping people too and in a different economic system, maybe that would be enough. We all need to eat. You could consider hiring a bookkeeper type to work a few hours per week to do the paperwork, taxes and so on for you. Maybe being one step removed from the "asking people for money" bit would help?
