I've been telling people for years. All the HN darlings, all these amazing innovative unicorns, and Uber especially, only exist because of unlimited investor money and price dumping.
A while back I did a cursory search through YCombinators "most successful companies", and guess what: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27485360 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27485360 Hundreds of millions of dollars lost every year for years.

- dmitriid 4y agoAccording to this: https://www.businessofapps.com/data/airbnb-statistics/ https://www.businessofapps.com/data/airbnb-statistics/ AirBnB has not had a single profitable year, losing 4.5 billion dollars in 2020 (okay, it was the pandemic year). How is it a counter example?
