I think the question of whether or not "Brendan" (the vending machine) was sentient is left open. The repairman resets it and afterwards it acts more like ... well a chatbot than a person. The implication being that it was closer to true AI. There is also Delamaine, who most definitely is an AGI, who has a nice quest line about it.
