After billions in investment, plant-based meat is a branding catastrophe
- bryanrasmussen 4y agoI'm not sure I agree, I have an idea that Beyond Belief's plant-based meat is supposed to taste so much more like meat than the other brands, I'm pretty sure I must have picked up this idea from their marketing.
- bonniemuffin 4y agoI did a side-by-side-by-side with Impossible, Beyond, and real beef patties. I thought the Impossible was fantastic and just as delicious as beef (although I wouldn't mistake it for beef), while the Beyond was mediocre by comparison. I haven't bought ground beef since I did the tasting-- Impossible has totally displaced ground beef from my diet, anytime I have the choice available. The taste and texture of Impossible vs Beyond is quite different from each other. I would encourage anyone who's curious to try them both head-to-head (alongside meat if you're a meat-eater) to see which one you like most, because I would guess it's somewhat a matter of personal preference. The products are really great, and I agree with the article that some marketing investment could help meat substitutes take over more of the meat market.
- bryanrasmussen 4y agogood to know, I have a daughter who is vegetarian so I should give it a try, but still I suppose I picked up the idea that Beyond was better somewhere and that is probably a result of some marketing.
