I saw an incredibly great collection of creative 404 pages a few months back. I can't find the one I saw, though Fab404 (http://fab404.com/ http://fab404.com/) has a bunch.
- blacksmythe 15y agoThis one is appropriate for HN: http://fab404.com/magnetize/ http://fab404.com/magnetize/
- cubicle67 15y agoexcept it implies that a 404 occurs when something goes wrong and when you can't type. A 404 would be the superset of those two, not the intersection
- davidhansen 15y agoSmall shameless plug for our own attempt at the "personal" 404 page: http://www.ties.com/fgswgdfjgjah http://www.ties.com/fgswgdfjgjah ( flash required to see video, sorry )
- udp 15y agoFunny, but sound on a 404 page? That could get annoying fast.
- lobo_tuerto 15y agoHitting 404 pages often GET annoying fast.
- sushrutbidwai 15y agoInterestingly fab404's 404 page itself is not at all great. http://fab404.com/404.html http://fab404.com/404.html
- blhack 15y agoThe one I use for thingist: http://thingist.com/blahblahblah http://thingist.com/blahblahblah And also 500: http://thingist.com/errordocs/500error.html http://thingist.com/errordocs/500error.html The site is tiny, which let's me be a little bit sillier than normal. Personally I think playfulness is the core of what it means to be a hacker, so I love this type of stuff :)
- effigies 15y agoMy favorite 404: http://www.rathergood.com/404 http://www.rathergood.com/404
- ComputerGuru 15y agoSound, plus it's annoying as hell? I can see why.
