Hi hackers, I excited to introduce my hobby project sui2 to you, which is a fork of the famous startpage sui. It was completed refactored with modern technologies such as Vite and PWA. I also add features like keyboard navigation and offline support to make it as fast as possible. But what sui2 different most from other startpages is that, it's a static build application, means that you can host it in a static hosting service such as GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages and Netlify without any cost. In my opinion, Startpage is not something that need to be changed everyday, since we are embracing static site generator in blogging, why not bring it to the startpage? That being said, sui2 still provides a Docker image for people who are keen on Docker based self-hosting. sui2's Docker image runs a NodeJS server, which not only servers the startpage directly, but also gives you an interface to edit and build the startpage lively. Creaing a startpage tool with static building technologies while making it editable online is such a lot of fun, and I hope you can also enjoy it :)
