as far as I know Signal is owned by a non-profit foundation
- nullc 4y agoMy understanding is that Signal is monetized through the premined cryptocurrency they integrated which isn't owned by the non-profit but by the people directing it.
- webmobdev 4y agoThe CIA does support, and even runs, many non-profit foundations.
- permo-w 4y agoI believe TOR is in large part funded by the US government
