I keep saying that it's on you if you are getting that paycheck and still lonely in the 21st century, as most IT professionals apparently are. You can literally rent a friend on the internet and bake a bread with them, visit a museum or whatever. The world is your oyster, and you probably don't end up being murdered if you are a straight cis man either. The situation is dicier if you are a woman, and don't even try if you are transgender.
