Where are all the robots in manufacturing?
- jgru 4y agoHere's a short piece we (https://www.tutorintelligence.com https://www.tutorintelligence.com) wrote explaining a common misconception about what domestic manufacturing actually looks like in 2022. This definitely surprised us as we made the shift from working on robotics in academia to industry, so hopefully others will find this interesting.
- fuzzfactor 4y agoI think in some manufacturing environments that ideal robotics would converge with traditional total automation and be virtually indistinguishable. Either pretty much had to be paid in advance and then pay off later on if everything works out. Looks like you're offering an alternative payment approach as a tangible benefit. I'm leaning toward a robotic project where the automaton will do an invoiceable job, so it can get immediate credit for everything it does. And be more standalone than average, even with a large non-intelligent component and very function-specific operation.
